A Story with a Happy Ending

A Story with a Happy Ending Over the last few months I have been pushing the notion pretty hard of taking a job that might not be the dreamiest, but at the very least a pay check. I have been encouraging this for several reasons: We dont know how long it will be before things turn around Having options is better than not having options I care about you all and dont want to see you suffer financially and personally This week I have heard great stories andI want to share onebriefly. The first is of a talented and more than capable marketing and sales manager who was sadly forced into early retirement by his previous employer. This situation forced the gentleman to re-evaluate his next career move. Over the past few months he has applied and interviewed with a number of recognized Rochester employers, but alas, he was either over qualified, not quite qualified or they decided not to fill the job. He has interests outside of work, one of which is cycling. He learned that a new bike company was coming to town and went to check it out. While in the store talking with the manager about new sales positions, he felt compelled to greeta customer in the shop. He didnt stop there, he asked the customer about their needs and desires and when they reached the point ofpricing inquiry, he turned it over to the other sales person. He felt exhilarated. He has accepted a job with this bike shop, doing something he loves, around the topic of something he is quite interested in and will be making just a bit more than minimum wage to start. He is still exhilarated about the potential, the fact that he can do this and do it really well and will feel needed and productive for the first time in many months! There is a spring in his step and a smile on his voice that I havent heard since I met him! Thank you sir, for letting me tell your story!!!! I hope it offers insight to many.
